After a three day weekend.

My weekend consisted of:
Sleeping
Eating
Watching TV
Wasting time in various other ways that I am not sure I could even recount
Taking the dogs for walks (One of the few productive things I did)
Cooking (although my stew smelled like chili =[)
Going to the temple (another great productive thing- we are at 2/7)
A little bit of homework (And I mean little...like, I got the necessities done, then thought about getting ahead...and stopped there.)
Went to church
Went to IF, shopped, got Joe new shoes, me a new dress, and measuring spoons, and a new shower head. (It was supposed to be part of my bday gift, but I am pretty sure Joe is in love with it).
Test drove a subarru (Not spelled right I know it...)
Thought about the future
Found our dream house IF we go to NY for grad school  (I really want the house.)
Spent the rest of the weekend dreaming about my dream house
Cleaning, although always the next day it looked like I had done nothing....
Looking at flights to go home...
talking to relatives: parents, mom-in-law, grandma...
Facebook...
Watching Psych with Joe

Basically, it was one of those weekends that I woke up Monday morning and I was just like, "What the heck did I do all weekend?"
Ya. Those are not nearly as good as the ones when you feel SO great by Monday.

But happy note:
I get to visit wonderful, sunny, warm California if April!

Cranky face:
The school switched testing days, so all my suffering of have class EVERY day at 8 or 7:45 am, is wasted, since I have to stay till Friday. =/
NOT happy.

Post

I wanted to post something.
But I really had nothing to say.

So, just so you know:
-Be polite and hold the door open for the person behind you, within reason, ESPECIALLY when they are RIGHT behind you.
-PICK UP YOUR FEET. ugh....girls and boots....sooooo annoying.
-Don't use a phrase wrong. The phrase goes, "If your not going to do it right, don't do it at all." NOT "Something not worth doing is not worth doing at all".
-Some jobs, students should not do. Like the jobs that decide your future- so the student ends up telling you that you need to take a class that the school not longer offers. =/
-Don't talk on the cell phone while going to the bathroom. Its awkward.

ya.

Happy day!

Happy early Valentines day! =]
We celebrated friday and saturday.
We went here:

Although, it was covered with much more snow, and did not look as pretty....but still. WAY fun. =]

We actually didn't really soak much, since I am pregnant and all....we mostly just enjoyed the fact that the weather was like in the high 40's, and the dogs were OBSESSED with seeing grass, it was fun.

And today, we got a MICROWAVE!!!!
Not super exciting, I know...
BUT.....
we have ben surviving the last 3 1/2 months without one... Do-able, yes.... convenient? Not always.
I have been wanting one, but Joe was convinced we were ok without one. And really, we have done fine.
But last night we went to Red Lobster, and brought home left overs.
Joe did not want to risk heating up his coconut shrimp in the oven....well more like he wanted it instantly, and somehow coconut shrimp helped him to see the light that we needed one.
Yay for me! =]

Also, Joe gave me my Valentines day gift early.
An IPAD. =]
It really is more like a gift for both of us,
and we are both in love with it.
I have LOVED using it at school, and grocery shopping, and when looking for directions, and playing games, and uh...yes, everything.  It is wonderful.  =]

Happy day?
Yes. I think so.

Grateful...

That my husband is not a super bowl fanatic.
So we don't have to spend lots of money on food for one sunday.

I am an English Major, Gosh Darn it!

Today I received a text from the teacher I TA for asking if I could teach today.
I could, luckily.
I had an hour to prepare.
Which is why class got out about 20 min early.
A couple of student in the first class (namely one, and then another one joined in) decided to talk the the ENGLISH MAJOR TA, about how English is really not a worth while subject.

REALLY???!?!?!?!?

First off, bad move on his part. He is in an English class!
I tried to explain how important English was.
And honestly, I can understand.
In high school, English teachers are just picky about grammar and spelling.
ENGLISH IS SOO MUCH MORE THAN THAT!
He tried to say how Math is soooo important, and if you never learn it, you are lost.
I use English WAY MORE then I use math!!
I am using English right now.
I use it at church.
I use it at work.
At school.
At home.
I am pretty sure my dreams are in English too.

His point was that people do not write like they talk and don't talk like they write.
I do.
I do not know what he was on, maybe I should tell somebody?

I do not know how to explain it.
Really, you have to become an English major in College to understand.
But it is SOOO much more important that just learning to write well and read a lot.

We have taken Sigmund Freud from the psychology department.
We analyze
We think out of the box.
We encompass just about every subject. We are creative. We think. We are professional.

We have a broader span to learn, from writing, reading, poetry to fiction, creativity to professionally.
We really are not to be taken for granted.
We are English majors, and we rock.

Also, it really made me angry. Who does he think he is saying that English is not important????
A world of people would disagree.

Did you know...

So, my birthday is at the end of the month.
Excited?
So am I.

But, I really have no idea what I want.
Except an Ipad. I really want one of those.
And maybe a watch.
A new couch, a rug, a new bed, a microwave, a new TV, lamps, stuff for our home basically...
another puppy (I just love puppies. =])
a new car??? yes. =]

I want a chest actually! Like, how everyone used to have a cool old chest, like how my parents have one. I want one. A nice big one that is made of real wood.

Or a trip home. Out of this cold. Yes. That all sounds good. =]
