Firm Believer

I am a FIRM believer that 'pregnancy craving' is a pathetic excuse for women to eat whatever they want while pregnant.
Does it exist? No.
Do people have 'cravings' anytime OTHER than when they are pregnant? Yes.

I just wanted to rant.
Your body needs certain things. If you arn't getting enough protein, of course naturally your going to 'crave' peanut butter or a nice juicy steak.
If your not eating enough fruit, of course your going to want fruit!
It really, makes sense. Cognitive sense.
Just saying.
Just ranting.

Rainbows and lollipops

(I have that song stuck in my head)

School ends in 3 weeks.
It's the final count down.
And I am nervous.

So, I have thought about a few of my favorite things! (I am very musical today):

Yellow. Sunflowers. Joseph. Sunny afternoon. Checking the mail. Baby Ida. My Family. Puppies. Finishing a book. California. Having a clean kitchen. Happy songs. melting snow.Wanting to go fishing, shooting, hiking, camping. (OH so excited for summer so we can be OUTSIDE!)
Melting ice. Spending less than you thought at the store. Irish  music. Empty laundry rooms. Cream Cheese frosting. Finishing homework an hour earlier than you thought it would be done. Having more money than you thought you had. Good grades. Having others understand how you feel.

Ok...

Joe went home to CA for the weekend.
I am SOOO ready for him to be back.
But in the mean time, I am done some SERIOUS bonding time with Penny.
She isn't that bad.
Especially when she learns to share the bed.

Library Findings...

I am doing a History paper on, "How the traditions of Farmers and Agriculture affected the people, education and culture of Rexburg, Idaho from 1900-1930".
So, anyways, I have spent some time looking at old newspapers from that time period on microfilms in the library.
Have not found much yet (mostly because it gives you head aches and I always stop)
But, I found this. Thought it was fun. =]

The girl named Ida Ho
For her I'd leave -- Virginia,
        I'd leave my Mary Land
I'd part with Mrs. Sippi
        The widow fair and bland,
I'd leave my Louisa Anna
        And other Anna, too,
I'd big farewell to Georgia,
        Though Georgia would be true.
I'd part with Minnie Sota
        I'd part from Della Ware,
I'd leave brunette Miss Souri
        The Carolina pair.
These women are all lovely
        True hearted girls, I know.
But I'd give them all the goby
        And Cleave to Ida Ho.
I like her breezy manners
        I like her honest ways
I like her in the moonlight
        I like her sunny days
Goodbye, my own Virginia
        And other girls I know,
I'm hanging round the gatepost
Of a girl named Ida Ho
                                -Para Pailadium

(DISCLAIMER: This poem does NOT reflect the feelings this blogger has for, "Ida Ho".)

I did it

In about 15 minutes, I will turn in rough draft #1 for my History paper that is worth 50% of my grade.
Then I have two more drafts to turn in, a LOT of research in-between, and a presentation.
And History 300 is done.
And then I can work on some other classes.

Bumps

My body is breaking out in some sort of skin virus.
Its fun.
Actually, it is becoming rather itchy.

Also, I am procrastinating writing the last page and a half of my rough draft of a BIG History paper I have to turn in tomorrow.
I am rather nervous.

And today was a BEAUTIFUL day!
But I was not feeling well.
=[
So I did not go outside to enjoy it.
Lame.

Adventure is out there!

So, we are still a bit in mourning over Napoleon.
Every day someone new finds out, so the scene of Napoleon seeing dead is brought back up.
=/ It is sad.

I love this picture of our little puppy.

It was his resting place. Well, not the car. But he was so good- ten minutes or less in the car, and he was out. cuddled up, looking as content as can be, waiting for his next adventure.
Cause, you know, any thing for Napoleon was an Adventure.
Adventure is out there. =]

Random:

The thing that made Joe and I miss Napoleon today:
Going to the bathroom.

But you must understand.
Joe has a theory that Napoleon did not quite understand the concept of doors. They were something that you went through and were gone. So when the bathroom door was shut, we would stand on the outside waiting for us to emerge.
Often times I would come home from school in a panic, hurrying to get to the bathroom, with Penny and Napoleon so excited to see me, that I would not shut the door.
Napoleon would just sit down and stare at me, wagging his little tail.

Silly, I know.
But there is something to say about a dog that waits for you, even in the bathroom.

I hate Rexburg.

Last night Napoleon died.
He was run over by a car.
Joe and I found him, less than 10 minutes after he was out of our sight, we found him in the middle of the road.
No one even stopped for him.
He had a collar and a leash on.
I miss that little guy.
Part Jack Russell- he had the energy of about 10.
Part Dachshund- He loved like on.
And way wired haired- he was quirky like one.

WAY too much cuteness to have died like that. And so young.
He fell asleep in awkward places.
He was always happy to see you. Anyone. He loved people.
He ate too much.
He didn't care how small he was.
He acted like a mountain dog.
He craved adventure.
He had this thing for squeaky toys.
He would visit me in the bath tub- just to see what I was up to.
And every morning I woke up with him curled up next to me.
I sure do miss him.

Daisy, from The Great Gatsby, cries when she finds our her child is a girl.
"I hope she is a fool then, because that is all a girl can be- a beautiful little fool".

This had no meaning in today.
I am just writing an essay about how Daisy is a dynamic character and wanted to share that quote.
(Hint- it is really foreshadowing).

Also, this poem, by Mary Oliver is quite brilliant.
Not a big poetry fan myself, but this one, is gold. (the title and the actual poem are the same length)

Watching a Documentary about Polar Bears Trying to Survive on the Melting Ice Floes

That God had a plan, I do not doubt.
But what if His plan was, that we would do better?

Cranky Face

I went to buy pop-tarts in the vending machine.
Vending machines honestly scare me, I am always worried my food is going to get stuck.
Today it happened.
There I was waiting for my pop-tart to come to me, when I saw they had chocolate donuts and immediately regretted my decision.
Apparently pop-tarts have mind reading abilities because at that EXACT MOMENT they STOPPED!!!!
I was so cranky. =[
So I had to go and buy the donuts, and waste a dollar!!!!
If it wasn't for the fact that I was in an open area with lots of people around me, I would have kicked that machine till I got my pop-tarts.
Stupid vending machines....
