Oh day...

Today we had an AMAZING devotional.  Devotional is every tuesday, and today it was Elder John H. Groberg, who is the reason the movie, "The Other Side of Heaven"  was made.  I LOVE that movie, and It was an amazing talk!  I really liked it.

Mary is closer to having a for sure ride to Salt Lake this weekend.  *sigh* oh the annoyance.

My foot is feeling better to.  =]

It is WARM today, in the 80's.  Its nice.  =]

Yep, it is confirmed.

I went to the doctor today, it took a total of about 5 mintues. It is sprained, she said that I need to RICE it.
R-est
I-ce
C- I actually can't remember what this one was....
E-levate

But yes.  She said it would be sore for a few weeks and take that long to get better.  It is slightly bruised and swollen.  She said not to run on it, but I can still go to the gym and bike- but if that starts to hurt then to stop.  I also need to walk as little as possible, which is a bummer since it is still ok weather to walk in and I needed to walk to the Verizon store and to sell plasma this week.

Me, getting my foot wrapped up by Nurse Holly
She is oh so good.  I havn't been able to re-wrap it as good as she did.
Sorry I don't have any more exciting picture then this.

Yay me!!  =]

Upside down, yes,  know...but if you can see, agove my ankle-ish area it is slightly a different color-bruise.  Slightly swollen as well.

Oh the agony!!!

So, I am pretty much sure that I sprained my ankle today.  In church.  yep.
I was going back into the relief society room, walking sorta fast so that I could talk to someone, and where our Relief Society is at the steps are all ridicuosly short, like none other.  Honestly, they are like 2 inches tall at most.  So, I sorta mis-stepped and fell on my ankle.  Of course everyone saw, what good is falling without people seeing?  But i immediately lauhed it off, but I could tell right away I had done something to it.  It hurts, yep.
When I got home from church our good friend Holly played Nurse and wrapped it and I have had it elevated all day.  Tomorrow morning I will call the Health Center and see if they can get me in.

It is a bit swollen, nothing too exciting- but I took picutres.  =] Which will be too come.

Also, tonight, I had a meal.  My roommate Brooke made us enchiladas.  =]  It was amazingly delicious!!! We took pictures, actually, Holly took pictures and I took them for her to show you for your benefit.  =]  We were happy.  It was something more then fast food or fried food, it was actual food.  =]
My lovely roommate Brooke making us our enchiladas.  =]  Oh, it was yummy.

It was good.  I was happy. =]
Brooke enjoying her Enchiladas and rice of course!

Holly. Yes, thankyou for letting my steal the same pictures off of your blog.  =] How I appreciate it.

The start of my chirstmas list...

Mary is the easiest person to shop for.  It is a proven fact by the scientist who use our money to reasearch things.  Mary is a giant pack rat, so she keeps everything, so she just takes everything she gets and wants everything.  So, my christmas lists have been known to put War and Peace to shame.  In results, she needs to start early.  Thus, the first thing I want for christmas:

THE CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE

Strawberry fields forever

So I am now officially done with all my classes for the day, and I felt like no other thing in the world would bring me greater joy then blogging again. Nope. Not even Ice cream.

I totaly forgot to  add something that I remembered that happened today!  So in math we took our first test- and pretty much the whole class didn't do good on it, so the teacher is curving it or some sort crazy teacher word like that- which is good.   But today we started class out with a hymn- which we don't even do in my Book of Mormon class.  Some classes have Piano's and hymn books, and I have heard that most religion classes do sing and some others do, but sadly I havn't yet in any of my classes.  But we did today- there is a piano and hymn books in that class to.  People said he wanted us to sing so we would not be as mad about the test.  haha.  But we sang #284- If you could Hie to Ko Lob, which is like totaly my favorite! I love it and I have had it stuck in my head for the past month and we got to sing it in Relief Society this past sunday, and we sang it today and it was the start of a good day.  =]

Then, my roommate had STRAWBERRIES.  After rejocing in the sweet delicous fruit that I have been tornfuly and painfully parted from for so long, I ate it.  Yes.  I ate it.  And it was amazing.  Although it is better freshly picked and sold at a local stand in Santa Maria where you can see them grown 5 feet from you and while thoughts of running through strawberry fiels stealing them and eating them run through your head.  But then, IT WAS GONE!  You could not imagine the great anguish I felt and the distraught that went through me, like a giant wave of hot cheese!  LUCKILY, my roommate Candice was there for me and gave me another one.  This one I savored, by taking pictures. =]  Yes, oh yes.  Pictures galore.  I did not realize how ridiculous I looked either posing with my strawberry till I was laughed at by my roommate Sarah.  She is always there for me that one.  Then, I checked the starwberry package and yes, they are from California. They came all the way to Idaho to find me.  It's sort of romantic, don't you think?  =]

Oh, yes.  I miss my strawberries. =]

I don't think I was trying to smell it at the time, but I never know what I am trying to do.
This one I shall call, "And God made the strawberry, and saw that it was good- and gave it unto Mary to rejoice in all her doings."
This was right after/during the time Sarah was laughing at me for taking about 10 different pictures with my strawberry, with my different poses.
But I only chose the best 5 that were really worthy of getting put on here for the general public to see, and maybe if I am lucky enough, National Geographics.
Look at it! It is just so cute! I am so proud of it growing up so red for me to eat! =]

Raindrops of Roses...

I am very bored.  Yes in deed.  Right now I have Taylor Swifts new song, "Love Story" repeating in my head.  If you havn't heard it- you need to.  It is cute.

I am sitting in my dorm in the living family area part- I don't really know what to call it- in my chair.  On our walls are giant sheets of paper with quotes from funny instances with my roommates.  About 9 out of the 14 so already up involve me- either I said it or it was because of me.  Arn't you so glad you know me?  =]  Let me share a couple of my favorites.

"And my father also was killed by them..."  Our "roomie" Holly (I say that since she is always over here anyway.) and her missionary send each other scriptures in their letters that are supposed to be all cute and such- so I told her that she should send him Moroni 8:3, which says, "I am mindful of you always in my prayers, continually praying unto God the Father in the name of his Hold Child, Jesus, that he, through his infinite goodness and grace, will keep you through the endurance of faith on his name to the end."  But, instead, she ended looking up Mormon 8:3, the first sentence saying, "And my father was killed by them..."  It was just a perfect mix-up of scriptures that was oh-to funny.

"See Sarah, I told you this isn't the Hospital."  Their is a building on Campus referred to as the MC- or Manwarring Center. It contains the bookstore and about 3 of the 6 places to eat on campus, also the Information desk, and some gym/stage areas where they have roller skating and dance classes/lessons and other things like that.  So Brooke, Holly Sarah and I decided to go to Jolynns for Ice Cream (It is basically a little bakery- also serves smoothies and bagels) , when Holly said she saw this guy who has been stalking her over at the Pizza place Tomasiots, across the hall and behind the bowling alley.  So Sarah wants to go see him and has me go along, but as we walk there I figure it will look really dumb of us to just walk in and look around and walk out, so we enter, her first, and I say, "See Sarah, I told you this wasn't the hospital." And she just says, "oh" and we walk out.  Luckily, I said it loud enough that people did look at her oddly.  Oh, it was fantastic, probably the best moment yet.  It would make a bit more sense if you saw the place, you would never assume it would be a hospital, oh, but Sarah, she did.

Those are basically my favorite two.  There are some other goods ones, but those two are worth mentioning and remembering.  =]  Yep.

Thats all for now.  OH!  But I decided to share some pictures of where I live as well.  =]

that is my chair in the corner.  with my scriptures, yep.  Except everything in all these pictures is reverse, but still.  My corner.  And Sarah wanted to be in it.  She is special.
My chair again.  Now, normally the cahir is on the other side, everything just got flipped in my pictures!  Darn....
My bed. Now, it LOOKS like its on the left side of the room, but it is really on the right. I promise.

MY chair! =]  Those would be Sarahs hand's trying to steal it from me, but it will never happen. Now, its not neccesraily the chair that is appealing, but more the location of the chair.

Oh, the gift of giving

Mary gave her blood today.  It didn't take as long as the last time I gave it, I am now up to a total of 2 times!  This time was easier I think.  The worst part really is when they prick your finger to test your blood.  But now I got a nifty green band around my elbow and 2 cool I gave blood stickers so I get to walk around and show people, and help to promation of saving 3 lives.

Yep.  It was really cold on monday, but it has gotten warmer- today it is nice.  Our dorms get SOO hot cause the heat is always on and we can turn it off, so I like to leave the window open which makes it a lot nicer.  But one of my roommates doesn't like it at least because she gets cold really easy, but it feels so nice.  On Monday it was like 30 degrees and I was SOOO cold and I got in my dorm and in 20 seconds I was hot.

Yep.  Life is good.  I somehow got a bit behind in homework, blah....I dont know how that happened, so now I am a little concerned about it, I will be doing a lot of that in the next few days- it will probably consume me.

You say you want a REVOLUTION

Yesterday was a storm day in Rexburg!  It was 'Raining' when I woke up- and by 3 in the afternoon it was deffinately raining with thunder and lightening to boot.  My roommates and I had stayed up till about 3:00 watching movies, so we all pretty much slept in till at lest 11:00, which felt like a complete waist of the day.  The weekends speed by here, by 2 in the afternoon I have barely done anything- which really stinks.
I ended up working on my lesson for Relief Society, doing Homewor
k and writting letters.  Around 3:00 I went with Sister Jones and we got lost driving around Rexburg- they have some really pretty houses here!  And somewhere we saw random chickens crossing the road- only in Idaho.  And we saw and Elk farm and horses and cows- which I could find in California, but they were in the rain and playing!  Which made it better.  We went to see Rachel Williams and her husband/baby/in-laws.  She was in our ward for a few months last year, and the Williams lived in AG for about 18 years, Sister Williams did stuff with Girls Camp, so I sorta new them.  Then we went and did some shopping and then ate dinner and just talked.  At about 6:30 I got to talk to Sister Beatse!  Which made me so happy!  =]

On friday this company called Apex which sells Alarm had this huge party that they have ever

y year.  They are the biggest alarm system company in the world and have this party to recruite people.  A lot of people go, and they literally give away money.  It was crazzy.  Plus they had free pizza and food, lots of things to do and it was crazy how much money they put out- but it was boring really.   Then me and the other 2nd warders watched some movies.

Today I gave my lesson in Relief Society- it went well I think!  People told me I did well so I hope that I did!  I feel good about it. =]  It was about the Plan of Salvation.  We had a stake fireside, which was like 2 1/2 hours!  I bit too long really...but o-well.

This past thursday a girl a few dorms down that basically lives with us had a birthday.  She just walks in whenever the door is unlocked- and when it is locked she looks through the window and tells me to open the door- becuase of course I am always sitting in my chair doing homework, and then I call someone else that is home and tell them the door is for them- yep. Luckily that hasn't happened to much becuase it has yet to work.  But it was fun, we went to Applebee's.

School and everything is going well.  I am continuing to meet new people and to have a good time. =]

My phone...

Here is what my phone looks like.....again, it isn't really that bad.  The cracks are pretty small....but it still really sad and annoying. blah.

Blarg

Today was not my most favoritest day....blah.... what basically ruined it though was the fact that after working out my phone dropped and cracked.  =[  Which really just sorta ruins everything.  It isn't too bad, luckily, and I can still use it and see it, but its still a bummer.
Then I got an email from the RA telling me I had a package, which I was excited about- but it ended up just being a birthday card I had tried to send that didnt have enough postage, so now it will be late, which is bad too. =[
Also I was late to my English class because my friends husband needed me to go to a store with him so he wouldnt be alone or something- and he walks fast and I walk slow, and I had to like sprint back to school and was late- which really wasnt a big deal, but it was a hot day and I was tired.
And I just dont want to do homework at all, but I need to....and I need to prepare a lesson for Relief Society on sunday.
Tonight is some party- like a carnival really I guess that apparently EVERYBODY goes to, it is hosted by some company that tries to recrute people- but I have no idea what it is or anything and just heard about it last night, but I had already made some plans to do things with some people from Santa Maria, so I wont be going....which is fine.  I am tired and need a night of watching movies.
I also hate phone tag.
On the good side- I got a letter in the mail today.  =]  I love mail.

Indiana Jones

So today while sitting out on "the slope" these guys were coming around our ward seeing who wanted to participate in a co-ed soccer team, and by chance they just happened to have a whip that one bought yesterday.....just for fun, they bought a whip.  So we took turns trying.....everytime I ddi it my head would duck so it never fully worked, but I didnt want the whip t take off my head.  Of course none of the girls were fully successful, and evey time one of the guys did it it made a sharp snap that brought out more people with each snap.  It was really highly amusing.

Andy, the reason for the whip.
My roomie Brooke trying out her talents at the whip.  =]  Oh so fun.  Sorry I have no pictures of me.

Chelsea, the Canadian who is in my American History class and celebrates Thanksgiving, Holly, The birthday girl today, and your favorite Mary.  =]  On our "Slope"  watching the Whipping.

The bottom of your feet is soft.

I can't believe that my weekend is over! It went by SOOOO fast!  And this was such a LONG week.  But a good week!  My weekend wasn't that exciting....I finally did my laundry for the first time! yay me!  Today me and my roommates all just went to church, which was longer this week then last week.  One of my roommates got called as Relief Society President so we got to hear her give
her first lesson, which she did good on!  Then we came home, i uh-- sorta locked me a
nd my roommates out our dorm....ya.  No one seemed

shocked that I did it, and I still don't remember closing the door! But we got our RA to unlock it for us.
And so far we have just been sitting on the "slope" our the grassy area the is inside our whole dorm complex.  We have been taking the 's, doing Homework, and playing with our RA's 3 kids--well, more like I have been playing with them.  We played duck duck goose, Steamroller (personal faorite) Tag, and a few other games not as worthy of mention.

Yep. =]  My sunday as a college student. =]

This is Holly and Sarah with our Head Residents daughter Jocelyn in our "slope"

My dorm from the outside.  =]  Number 365.

This is what our dorm looks like.  All of our dorms surround this corridor place, so its pretty cool.

Me, You and the Dance Floor

My first Saturday to sleep in!  YAY!! But I didnt really sleep in,  because me and my roommate Sarah made ourselves get up to go to breakfast.   We wanted to check it out and see what it was like and if it was worth going to- since we had only eaten lunch & dinner so far in the cafeteria.  I liked it.  I had been wanting a bagel REALLY bad for the past week.  So I finally got my bagel!  =]   It was sort of funny actually, a bunch of us were planning on going this morning, and we were like, "we gotta go to bed so we can eat breakfast tomorrow morning."  Only 2 of us made it out of like 5- but thats fine, we were talking till early in the morning so it makes sense no one else made it.

Yesterday was my roommates Brooke's birthday so after we all had gotten done with class we went out to eat at a place called Wingers- they specialize in different kinds of buffalo wings, it was fun.  Then we had a roommate dance party that was fun.  Then a bunch of kids walked to this dance party that we ended up going to- but it was so stupid and I didn't want to be there at all- so I ended up calling someone to pick me up because I wasn't allowed to walk home alone.  Then I just came back and eventually my roommates came home and some other girls from a few dorms and us all just hung out- and rolled down the hill in our complex: fun.  =]

I really need to do laundry but the laundry room is full and I am afraid I am going to mess something up.....hope not.

Me and my roomies and Wingers.  =] (from left to right) Candice, Brooke, Me, Sarah, Jessica.

That's all I heard...

I am almost done with my first week of school!  Just one day left. =]  It has been interesting.  I have had a lot of homework.  I come home from class and do homework, basically reading, and eat occasionally.   Not that bad.  I really like my roommates and we laugh a lot, well they talk I laugh.  I have a chair in our lounge area in our dorm that I always sit and do my homework.  Its nice.  My spot- my roommates can normally find me there.  =]Oh, I think I might have gotten a job.   I can sell my Plasma 2 times a week (about 2 hours) for $30.  A grand total of $60- no tax.  Sweet

, Eh?    No application necesary either.   I hear that I might be misunderstood for a drug dealer- but I figure the walk down mainstreet to get to work twice a week will also be benneficial for me and the enviroment.    I am really enjoying the options presented to struggling college students.  I knew when I graduated that I would start making 2X
the ammount as the average High school drop out.  Hope I'm doing your proud Ma.

These are two of my roomies.  On the left is Brooke, from Texas.  On the Right is Sarah- Las Vegas.  They are fun.  I accidently punched Brooke the other night at our schools game ni
ght- we were doing this inflatable boxing and my glo
ve slipped....It left a small mark, but I promise it was an accident!
We all have fun eating togethor.  You can most commonly find me in my chair and Sarah on the other chair eating chips of some sort.  Its what we do and how we spend our time.

I sort of got all caught up and up to date with homework to finally, also since my next classes a lot arnt till monday or tuesday- but I still have a lot of homework for the weekend.  Tomorrow is Brooke's bday, so we should have fun.  =]

When I left my dorm this morning, it was cold.  Like 45 degrees.  Yep.  brrr......  It sprinkled yesterday a little bit.  Just waiting for snow now.

Your most attentive servant.

Cool: Alright

So I have been to all my classes now.  WOW.
On Monday I had a Math class from 9-1o, and then I didnt have any other classes till 3:15 which was my English class till 4:15, then my Book of Mormon class from 4:30 till 5:30.    My math class I need to take this placement test for which I am a bit nervous about, since I havnt like taken math for a year....but the teacher is nice.  My English class is small- the smallest out of all by far.  It has only 25 students.  That is smaller then my highschool classes.    My Book of Mormon class is interesting, I was expecting it to be more like my Seminary class, it isnt.
Today I had my American History class from 8-9:30.  That is the one class I am most scared about.  The teacher has me scared and most of the class to I think. It will be a lot of work- it will be actually.   The syllabus alone was 20 pages by itself.  Then there are about a million other things I have to have hard copies of things from that class.....and then about once a week I have to wake up at 6:30 am to take on online test for that class.  Im excited, let me tell you!   That class is my biggest to- with about 86 students.  Then I had another long break till 3:15, which was science.  I think that class will be pretty easy.   I hope.  My days flip flop like that back and forth the rest of the week- except Friday, I end at 4:15.
The only thing that is confusing is this thing my school uses called I-Learn.  Some classes are online, and ANY class can use I-Learn, which is when classes are online.  So pretty much all my classes require me to go online for my work to get announcements, assignments, instructions and to turn things in, which is really confusing having that and regular classes.....but I should eventually get used to it.
Every Tuedsay at 2 we have devotional, and I learned this week the get there EARLY.
I have met 4/5 of my roomates- we are still short one and dont know if she will ever move in, guess it doesnt matter.  We are fine how things are.  I like my roomates and we all get along.

The weather here has been pretty nice so far.  Nothing too exciting to tell.  I am meeting new people and getting to bed fairly early and getting up early to.  I mean it to- I make sure I am in bed by midnight! Im good. =]  hahaha.

Now it is time for me to go to bed.
Night all!

Its a wonderful day in the Neighborhood

It is the first Sunday of my college experience and I am only going to ONE church service!  Can you believe it?  I know.  Odd.  I am adjusting to things and our dorm is scheduled to go to church from 1:30-4:30.  I have no clue who all will be in my new ward or how big it will be- so this should be exciting!  Plus, I get to fast this sunday to- since Santa Maria is special and had Fast Sunday a week early.
After church I really need to find out where my classes are- I have a few of them in the same building, I just need to find out where the buildings are at.

Yesterday was the last day of Get Connected.  We started it off with a morningside, then we learned about the school and the 'Spirit of Ricks'.  After that we had a service project- I think it is like amazing that we not only will be starting off Science class with a prayer, but that we start off the school year with Service Work.  Also- the Walmart here sells Book of Mormons.  Its amazing.

Also- there is a new mormon movie out, The Errand of Angels, it is about Sister Missionaries.  I havnt see it yet, but it is my new favorite movie.  =]

Yesterday was something called I- Night Extravaganza, which is like a big fair sort of for the whole school.  They had all sorts of games an activities and food- a lot of people went, but it was fun!  I rode a mechanical bull.  I didn't stay on long, but it was fun. =] ( sorry- no picture for that one.)
So far I have seen 5 people I know- 3 from Santa Maria.  2 were people from EFY, then I saw Niccole Bendixen, another girl Emily I knew from Singles Ward, and Sister Jones- who served as a misisonary in our ward last may-november.  She is now actually married- But I will still call her Sister Jones.  =]  I got to meet her Husband yesterday- I approve.   It was so nice to see people I knew to!
So, that is life in Idaho.  Someone told me yesterday that since it has been a cold winter, that means it will be a even colder winter- so there is a good chance we will have snow in a month.  Wow.  A snowy Halloween- how bizzare.

My new hair cut by the way.  =]       -------------->

Here at last!

Alright, so I made it across the  long journey from California to Idaho.  OK, well, I average it took about 20 hours, so not HORRIBLE, but still....a journey none the less!  And somehow, even though all I did was sit in the car and sometimes sleep- I was always so tired at the end of the day.  Imagine that.  =]
Well, got moved in today.  Most everything is unpacked, just not put away--still need to go shopping to get more stuff tomorrow as well!  Plus I need to take care of some things for my computer and tomorrow will be a long day.  So far I am having fun- although I am not sure how I am feeling that I am being forced to do all this stuff, I will do it and want to, but It feels like so packed right before school.  Wow.  I can't believe school starts monday!  That is too insane!  I am so not ready to go back.  But being here makes me feel a bit more excited.  Already I am understanding why people say that they love it here.

I am tired.  Long day tomorrow.  yay.  =]
